About

Introduction:

I am a current completing my MLIS via SJSU’s School of Library and Information Science distance graduate program. Also, I work full-time for a large academic library in Washington State as a paraprofessional and information assistant, and generally volunteer for committees, task forces, and projects on a regular basis. I am exposed to many different facets of the academic library at my job and have the opportunity to explore my professional interests on a consistent basis. My work and graduate experiences will be the source for my postings.

Purpose statement:

This blog is my attempt at framing those issues pertinent to libraries and the higher education system in a way that makes sense. I want to take the emerging technology issues and content and fit it to libraries, essentially making a square peg fit into a round hole … sometimes that is what it seems like.

I will blog on topics I feel are relevant and timely to the library profession. These topics will vary in scope as my interests, focus, and attention will generally vary depending on the topic dejour that day, week, month.

Transparency/Full Disclosure:

In the spirit of full disclosure and transparency, I am obligated to say that the opinions and statements made on this blog are my own and do not in any way reflect the opinion or policy of my employer. The statements I make on this blog are solely mine, I am not acting as an agent of my employer or the university I currently work at.

I reserve the right to remove any and all inflamatory or rude comments posted. This blog is intended for exploring concepts and issues related to libraries and not for others to take their worldly frustrations out on innocents. Also, do not drag politics into your comment posts. You have got the wrong blog if you want to talk politics.
